amazing service from a particular Gentlemen at the bike section I believe he's always at the bike section forgot to ask for his name but he is an amazing employee and deserve a manager role. His customer service is Impeccable Amazing, he just an amazing person altogether. I forgot his name but next time i visit the store again, I shall be asking for his name thank you Smyths for having such an amazing employee at your side.

The most horrific customer service I received from this man called Harry. I bought a bike for my 3yo and I realised in her first ride that is very big for her, went back the next day with the bike to exchange for a smaller one and we’ve meet Harry.
No offence but he should brush his teeth before talking to the customers as I was about to collapse from the smell and his rude attitude towards me and my daughter were unimaginable.
!!! Don’t buy bikes from this shop before making a good research and don’t expect to receive any help as Herry the manager is completely useless and clearly frustrated with his job.

Based within Peninsular Park, we've been here many times over the years, if you've been to a Smyths before, it's like a carbon copy of all the others.

It has a range of toys, gadgets and video games to cater to all, the staff are all very helpful when we asked, no problems in that department.

It does get crowded during the festive seasons or off-peak times.

Getting here with public transport, Charlton (Thameslink/southeastern) or for buses, Peninsular Park Road via buses 472/486 is your closest.

I picked the online order baby pushchair and car seat form the store.staff was really helpful they help me to carry to the car and show me how to fit car seat.
I would highly recommend for baby shopping and toys.

Throughout my encounter the baby seat sales team were incredibly rude and unhelpful.

Three staff spent 10 minutes ignoring me while they finished talking about thier sex lives. When I finally got a girls attention, we went to my car to test a new seat, she informed me I needed a different type and said she'd go back to get one. However she then never came back.

After waiting 15 min outside I went back in to the store to see what happened. This time a guy was at the baby seat section. I explained what the previous girl said and asked if he could help me get a compatible version. He then asked me the exact hieght and weight of my child which I said I wasn't sure of but he is an average hieght 5 year old and his weight is about 22kg. He then refused to serve me as I couldn't prove his exact details. This was crazy as the seat clearly says it fits 9 months to 12 years, so you can't really say there is any risk of my child being outside the range.

Anyway I asked if he could point me towards a compatible one, He said he couldn't say one more thing to help me and that I would have to use click and collect.

Annoying but fine, I'll use click and collect. No luck, the website also failed me as it said the seat was out of stock despite them having one to sell me right there.

Throughout this process their tone was very dismissive and rude.

The baby seat staff really need some serious training on etiquette

I checked google to know what time the store closes and it states 8pm. I arrived at 6.50pm and was very rudely told by a member of staff that the store is closed. She merely said ‘no we closed, we closed’. I proceeded to inform her that it states they close at 8pm and was rudely told that the time was wrong. The staff were in such a hurry to leave that they even left stock outside the store (see attached). Extremely disappointed with the level of service!! My son was so excited to attend the store and was left very upset!!

Bought an Xbox Series X which wasn't reading any disks so I took it back for an exchange.
Upon explaining this at the counter I was asked if I'd brought a disk with me to test it?
Um, No, of course not. Why would I?
I wasn't expecting to have to prove my case.
Usually the customers word is good enough, what with the hundreds of pounds exchanged and all. At least that's always been my experience at Argos...

After that the guy unboxed and plugged in the consol to the massive screen above the counter in an attempt to show everyone that I was lying and the consol worked fine.
(Standard procedure at Smyths Toys apparently.)

I was then chastised for having factory reset the consol because now the poor paid employee would have to go through the whole setup procedure to prove that I was lying. Requiring more effort.

Of course I reset it, otherwise my Xbox account details, email address, payment details etc would still be on there. It would be foolish not to.

After 25 minutes of him trying to connect to the stores WiFi he eventually gave up and just exchanged the item....

Baffling, time wasting and embarassing.

Next time I'll stick to Argos where if you ask for a refund of exchange because the item is faulty, they will give you a refund or an exchange. Imagine that!
Rather then go to extreme lengths to prove you're lying or an idiot for the whole store to see.

My first and last time using Smyths Toys.
Back to Argos from now on.
I advise you to do the same.
