A Ruse

Visited today with my 16 year old son, who has been dying for a new setup. He's a newbie and after he killed my old decks (wasn't hard, they were over 30 years old and were happy to have someone love them on their way out) he's been riding a loaner for the last few months. It's his birthday in a couple of weeks, and he's really been looking forward to this.
From the moment we walked in, we loved it. No one posturing, just a super chill vibe, run by friendly people who love the sport and are skaters themselves. They have a solid selection of decks and gear without being overwhelming.
Very affordable prices, and they don't sell you things you don't need.
There were plenty of people in the shop, but Spencer took his time with us while still giving my son space to make his own decisions without any pressure.
Spencer taught my kid how to properly apply griptape and assemble the board in an amazingly clear, patient manner that blew me away.
We walked out of there with a solid, customized skateboard, a spare deck, an extra sheet of griptape, T tool, and two sweatshirts for $400, which was a super solid deal. In my opinion, it doesn't get better than Lighthouse!
I'm stoked to see a locally owned and run shop like this in SB. We need more of this kinda action around here! You guys are awesome!

The best skate shop in cali bottom line. Love these guys. Cool to just hang out, even if you’re not buying anything. Have everything you’ll need and more, plus very dog friendly. Much love you guys! Happy 8 years!

EDIT: went back the next day and shelled out for a pair of Emerica Pillars and a whole new board. Wouldn’t be any place I would rather spend my money. These guys are so cool and are happy to help you with whatever you need. Will come back every time I visit SB! Must visit if you skate.

Bought my first board from them back in August. Had an amazing experience talking to everyone and got a beautiful board! The folks here are super nice and will help you out with anything you need, even if you are just a beginner. Would highly recommend.

Amazing experience! My sons birthday was today and all he’s been asking months for is a skateboard. I have never skateboarded and had no idea what to look for. Stop by this shop today and he took his time with my son and explained everything while customizing his board. Thank you so much for the great day.

Legends running the best skate shop on the west coast, they've got everything you need at way cheaper than all the other stores I've seen. With a welcoming party of dogs to great you at the door and then knowledgeable crew behind the counter you really can't go wrong with gearing up at the lighthouse Skate Shop. 10/10 would come again if they didn't set me up for life with the stuff I got there the first time.

My daughter wanted to get fitted for a board so we went to Lighthouse, which was recommended by a friend. Canaan and Spencer are awesome, they were so patient and helpful and helped my girl pick out a nice deck, showed her the process of putting the trucks and applying the grip, and generally are just super cool and nice guys. I highly recommend Lighthouse Skate Shop! What a great location too!

I have never been in a shop with young fellas that made us feel so welcomed like they did!
