Watch your meats at this location. I spent like $24- on a package of freshly packed ground beef. Usually I check my dates. For whatever reason I didn’t do so this last time. Purchased the package in the evening. Abut 18 hours later I went to my fridge to pull it out & bbq it up, but it’s color was off, like brown instead of pink and it had a bad smell to it. I then looked at the date and it expired the day before. So they sold me a $24- piece of meat that expired the day it was sold! I was going to take it back, but could not get there in time so I had to take the $ loss on their mess up. Jacked up!!!
This location is older. Not maintained well or as nice as others. Definitely messier, and stock is bad. Definitely reflects on the manager whoever it is. These issues do not need to exist, yet due to managerial incompetence they do!
Seems like each time I go at-least a few of the items I need are out of stock (I usually don’t buy more than a dozen items at a time, so that’s like 1/4 of what I need out of stock) where this has never been an issue at the other locations I’ve shopped at or from where I just moved from.
As far as the lines go, I’ve never seen more than one regular register opened and usually too many people with big orders are already waiting in it. This is why I don’t get more than a dozen or so items at a time so I can still go through self checkout without an issue. That sucks I have to limit what I buy due to the store being too tight and not willing to spend the money on the proper amount of cashiered as needed. I’ve not had this issue at any other BJ’s. Only the Sanford location. Corporate needs to address this issue!!! For many reasons (the ones I mentioned plus many more) I’m not impressed with this location at all. Pretty sure I’m going to let my membership go at this point and go back to Sam’s or Costco instead due to the quality of this particular Sanford location/warehouse which is closest to where I now live. Bummer!!

Employees were nice but the service provided wasn't. I went to see the TV's and I saw your display model was on sale 70" TV for $299.00. I came back the next day because there weren't any employees available to bring down the TV the first day. I came back to the store and there was an employee available but I had to help him bring the TV down, not an issue but I don't work for BJ's. I was told that they would rap the TV in bubble rap because they didn't have the box... that was okay also. But after purchasing the TV I bought the plan offer for protection (which no one explained or provided information) the TV remote could not be found, they did not have bubble rap or a box or a way to protect the purchase I made and the manager said that would be on me. The remote was missing, I was told that I need to purchase a universal remote. The manager says they could have given a $20 discount byt they did not offer that but she can not provide any way to protect the 70"TV she said "that's on you the customer". I returned the TV because I did not to take the chance to break the TV on my way home. Poor way to manage the sale that was and then wasn't... There should be a better way BJ's it shouldn't feel like I am purchasing a TV at the second hand store because I wasn't.

I Used to like this store. Unfortunately it has become so understaffed that getting out with your groceries is a chore. If you want to scan with your phone it's 20 items or less. You can self check out again scanning at a register by yourself if you have issues be prepared to wait for a team member to arrive and then they will give you a tutorial on how to work the scanner and operate their system (I Do NOT Work for you I Do NOT Care I would like to PAy and Leave!)
Only One regular cashier and Usually it is "the one" I avoid because I got the we are timed as far as how long it takes us so I will not scan your membership card until all your items are on the belt and ready to go...so then You have to wait in line to Exit because someone has to check your cart to be sure you scanned everything...I DON'T WORK FOR YOU I AM PAYING FOR MY FOOD ARE YOU GOING TO PAY ME FOR MY TIME? THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS!
I have had several experiences with this store and its employees on several different days over the course of many months and nothing is getting better. It is a hassle and I will be going somewhere else for my warehouse membership next year after I go stand in line to cancel my membership at the courtesy counter as I hear that is the only way to do that ?
IUsed To LIkE coming and shopping here

They erased my review pictures don't know how!, I had a email quote on tires around 350.00 for four tires installed then at the Sanford store they told me it changed to 450.00 had pictures to proof it, there all gone ,bought my tires elsewhere, they told me prices change every day on tires REALLY? products inside store besides fresh meat I can find cheaper everywhere!, plus store isn't the cleanest and no food court, gas prices usually only a dime cheaper per gallon I can match that for free with gas app, prefer The other big warehouse club, better quality and cleaner and food court no bait and switch on tires! 10/28/24 bought AA batteries at store price said 22.99 I used 2 off coupon then they charged me 24.99!! Online it's 21.99 with no coupon! Beware of this store! Then I tried to get gas, a female attendant came out and said there was someone last week pulling out a knife there so watch out!! WTH BEWARE of this store!!!!!!

The manager, Heidi, is not friendly or approachable. We were standing in a slow line at the membership desk (only staffed w/ 1 person on a Saturday morning). She approached to see what we were needing, when I tried to explain the situation with my membership card she was rude & dismissive. Even if you cannot help someone, it’s not what you say, but the way you say it. She looks old enough to know how to conduct herself, not sure if any improvement could be made with her CS skills.

Highly disappointed in the front end on Sunday June 2. Had a $200+- order. 1 cashier with 4 large orders in line. So we look for self-checkout. Only 2 positions for more than 10 items. We wait. We begin our scanning. A clerk came over 2 times because of the our lack of experience with the does and don't of self-serve. Meanwhile there are 3 staff members standing watching. We've been "members" for many years. The level of service was not given as it should. I asked a manager why another register didn't open. The answer was "it is the way of the world today". Will we go back to Sanford BJ's? Probably not.

01/03/24 Update again…
A pallet of expired product on the sales floor.

A pallet….

Updated to 1 star…

I have been sent expired product multiple times on multiple orders. Honestly the lack of controls as a company is horrible. Get your act together as a company bjs.

Ultimately if I am purchasing for myself or as a family I will not usually pass the multitude of other stores and groceries to come to BJs. I would rather honestly shop Target or Publix. But if I am shopping in bulk for my business in terms of resale and or wholesale, this is when I am shopping at BJs. That said… it’s hard to quickly, efficiently, and consistently buy here as I need.

First:
In stocks aren’t very consistent. Products seem to run their cycle very quickly and then become discontinued or obsolete ( that or just never in stock when I need).

2nd:
Being that I purchase as a resale option the cashiers must press a tax exempt button after every scan… this sometimes adds an extra 5 mins onto a transaction as the hopeless cashier walks back and forth between scanning and pressing the button. Help your team, customer’s, and efficiency by trying to streamline this process.

Third:
As atated above (in buying in bulk). Bjs is a discount club … within this platform your goal is for your customers to buy in bulk (or one would think), but the registers and checkout process heavily lean towards smaller purchases (15 items or less). On my last visit 6 checkouts were open on self scan (15 items or less) whereas 1 actual register with a cashier was open.

I think I’m just as confused as BJs on who their targeting as a demographic ‍♂️
