Argos Old Kent Road - London

Had a very bad experience today at the Old Kent road store with an older black staff (Joanne) who shouldn’t be in a customer facing role. An older white male was in a wrong queue in front of me and got told very rudely by this staff (Joanne) to move to another section of the store.

Clearly the old man had collected his item and was waiting for his partner. After that Joanne said nothing and I was next in queue so thought I was safe.

Now it was my turn, and she rudely told me off first asking me to queue in a particular place when obviously the signs in the store are not clear which I pointed out and that she did not like and hence forth she had this unacceptable attitude while trying to get my order. So I respectfully asked to be helped by another staff member not minding the 5minutes wait.

For context purposes:
I was picking up an online order and there were 3 tills in the section on the wall that says PAID ONLINE. I waited in front of the first left till in that section but Joanne wanted me to be in the right 3rd till but finds it difficult to tell customers this information nicely or politely.

As I left the store I walked up to her and politely told her that I have been calm and respectful through the situation because I have a mum at home and would treat her with same respect hoping she’d have a rethink going forward but God I was wrong. She told me to “USE YOUR BRAIN”

My main concern is that from the look on other colleagues face, no one can say anything to her and this is also shown on how she carried herself so please MANAGEMENT speak to Joanne to be kind and polite to customers. Thank God I am of the same skin otherwise such attitude could be addressed as discrimination or whatnot in a different circumstance.

The customer service I have received on two occasions recently has been top standard! The team have been brilliant and a special mention to the manager Mike: he went out of his way to help me find something not available in store and sort my exchange out there smoothly. Very patient and understanding so a huge credit to the company! Thanks Mike and team

Argos Old Kent Road !!!! What can I say ? Tried to buy a washing machine and was unsuccessful.Due to Argos’s terms and conditions. Certain things have certain cover so, it was unsuccessful. The team in there are absolutely brilliant. They were so helpful and went above and beyond. The Manager Mike (Magic) tried every avenue to seal the deal but unfortunately there was nothing in stock or nothing for a simple buy and insurance. Thank you so much for you’re support and help team Argos Stay as you are…... QUALITY I would only give Argos 2 STARS as a company. But employees 5 STARS ?

Une ligne de magasins ARGOS particulièrement répandue à Londres où les clients choisissent leurs produits sur informatique , passent commande et règlent avant de récupérer leurs achats aux comptoirs d’où l’on voit les commandes arriver sur de grands tapis roulants… les clients repartent immédiatement avec les produits de leur choix.
La variété de ces produits est véritablement incroyable puisqu’elle englobe à peu près tout ce qu’une maison peut nécessiter, y compris l’achat d’un vélo dernière minute !

I bought a beautiful and unique mass produced picture called ’Frida Crop Floral’ but what I received is a pretty inadequate drawing of what appears to be Kevin Costner in Dances With Wolves.
I cannot understand what’s happened here, and as much as I love Dances With Wolves, it’s not what I ordered.
Had no response from Argos on this matter, which only adds to the feelings of disappointment.

Last Adventurer

Thanks to Sarah and her colleague for saving the day! Ordered online for collection but after ordering it said I would have to wait until the next day despite it showing as in stock. Phoned the online customer services who weren’t very helpful as they couldn’t see store stock and cancellation of the order would take 24 hours to refund. Popped down to the store anyway and Sarah and her colleague found the item was in stock and managed to allocate it to my order there and then! Lifesavers, thank you! Argos retail stores 1 - Argos online stores 0 !

I thought I bought new sheets from this Argos but in reality they sold me stained sheets, god knows what these stains are. Shame on you Argos.

Excellent customer service, the staff members are very helpful when you need some assistants with finding a particular item.
Very spacious on the inside with a modern look to it with a very big warehouse housing a wide array of products with most of the products still being in stock.
